The Watchers by Russell Turney

I won a copy through the Goodread's Firstreads program.
The Good:
Right out of the gate, this is a book you don't want to put down. There is something on every page to keep your attention. The main character Gaia is sent to Earth to intercept a dangerous device invented by Professor Bart. Much like creating the atam bomb, the professor will regret his invention. Without giving anything away, this is a novel of suspense, sci-fi, time travel, romance, and what it means to be human.
The Bad:
I was put off that the author did not warn readers about certain scenes. This is not a book I would recommend to my youth students, or anyone who prefers to fore go 'sexual situations' in their reading. Although realistically portraying what might happen to a being experiencing humanity for the first time, I did not feel it was entirely necessary.
Overall, if you can skim over the awkward intimate moments, the rest of The Watchers is worth picking up. Happy reading!
